Booker T isn't the first wrestler to express an interest in running for an elected office.
Terrance "Rhyno" Gerin won the Republican primary for the 15th district in theĀ Michigan House of Representatives butĀ lostĀ the general election to the Democratic candidate, AbdullahĀ Hammoud.Ā
Most famously, Jesse Ventura served as Minnesota's governor from 1999 to 2003.
Booker T made his political ambitions known when speaking with Rhyno during an episode of his radio show Heated Conversations on Saturday (via CBS Houston'sĀ Joshua Reese).
"You are overqualified for the job," Rhyno said of his former colleague. "Wrestling not only prepares you for life but it prepares you for positions like that because you feel the emotion from the people you know what they want, youāve built yourself from where you were to where youāre at now."
