Fantasy Football Week 14 Rankings: Latest Position-by-Position Rundown

With just one month remaining of the NFL regular season, Week 14 marks the beginning of the playoffs in many fantasy leagues, which means making wise lineup decisions is paramount.

While riding with the studs who got you to this point regardless of matchup is generally a good idea, other choices won't be so easy. That is where a deeper dive into the stats can be helpful since every point counts and could be the difference between elimination or moving on.

Ahead of one of fantasy football's most pivotal weeks, here is a full rundown of rankings at every skill position and a closer look at the best and worst plays.

Up: Jameis Winston

Second-year quarterback Jameis Winston is enjoying another fine season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is on pace to make history, according to Joe Kania of the team's official website:

Winston has thrown for 3,180 yards and 23 touchdowns on the year to go along with 111 yards and a score on the ground.

The Bucs are playing great as a whole and have recorded four straight victories. They have a great matchup on tap from a fantasy perspective in the form of the New Orleans Saints.

New Orleans are 31st in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game, which means Winston figures to feast on the Saints' questionable secondary.

Down: Marcus Mariota

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is playing as well as almost any signal-caller in the league, and he has eight straight games with multiple touchdowns to his credit.

Sitting Mariota in the midst of such an impressive hot streak may seem like a tough ask, but he is about to face a Denver Broncos team that gives up little through the air.

Denver is tops in the league against the pass, and it has given up just 10 passing touchdowns to go along with 12 interceptions.

The added threat of Mariota's legs, with 310 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, gives him a better chance of success against the Broncos than most quarterbacks, but he is still best off on the bench.

Up: Jeremy Hill

While Cincinnati Bengals running back Jeremy Hill has just 54 rushing yards over the past two games combined, he could be in line for a huge day in Week 14 against a struggling Cleveland Browns defense.

The Browns are 31st in the NFL against the run, allowing 140.6 yards per game. In the Bengals' meeting with Cleveland earlier this season, Hill carried the ball just nine times, but he racked up 168 yards and one touchdown.

In addition to that, he is more involved in the passing game with Gio Bernard on the shelf, according to Adam Levitan of DraftKings:

Hill's play has left plenty to be desired over the past month, but a meeting with the Browns tends to cure all ills for running backs.

Down: Devontae Booker

Fantasy hopes were high for rookie Devontae Booker after C.J. Anderson went down with an injury, but the Broncos running back has failed to live up to expectations.

He has averaged 3.3 yards per carry or worse in five consecutive games and is coming off a contest that saw him gain just 35 yards on 18 carries.

The Titans are quietly seventh in the league against the run, allowing just 92.3 yards per game.

Add in the fact Kapri Bibbs is starting to cut in to Booker's workload, and there is little upside to speak of in Week 14.

Up: Tyrell Williams

The 2016 campaign has been a breakout season for second-year wide receiver Tyrell Williams, as he has caught 53 passes for 837 yards and six touchdowns for the San Diego Chargers.

Williams has been quarterback Philip Rivers' most-reliable target and has displayed a nose for the end zone as of late, as demonstrated by the team's Twitter account:

Although Williams was targeted just four times in his most recent outing, he netted double-digit targets in each of the two previous contests, so usage doesn't figure to be a problem.

To top it off, the Carolina Panthers are 30th in the NFL against the pass and have allowed 22 touchdowns through the air, which bodes well for Williams' chances of turning in a big game.

Down: Allen Robinson

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson appeared to be developing into an elite player last season, but his production has dropped off sharply in 2016.

Robinson has followed up a 1,400-yard, 14-touchdown performance in 2015 with just 622 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games this season.

He has a combined 73 yards receiving over the past three games, and the sledding doesn't figure to get much easier against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikes boast a dominant defense that is fourth against the pass, at 199.9 yards allowed per game, so Robinson should be sat in most formats regardless of his lofty draft status prior to the season.

Up: Cameron Brate

At a position that boasts little fantasy depth this season, Bucs tight end Cameron Brate has quietly emerged as a top fantasy option.

With six touchdown catches, Brate is surprisingly among the top tight end contributors in that category, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times:

Brate has also caught 47 passes for 528 yards, and he is coming off arguably his best game of the season, with six grabs for 86 yards and one touchdown.

Winston figures to have a field day against the Saints' 31st-ranked pass defense, and Brate is in line to be among the biggest beneficiaries.

Down: Kyle Rudolph

Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph is brimming with talent, but he has struggled to provide consistent production from a fantasy perspective.

Despite double-digit targets in each of the past two games, Rudolph has just 109 yards to show for it and has gone three contests without catching a touchdown.

Although he is a solid safety valve for quarterback Sam Bradford, the potential for a huge game isn't there, especially against an underrated Jaguars pass defense.

The Jags are second in the NFL against the pass, with just 195.8 yards allowed per contest. Rudolph doesn't figure to reverse that trend.
