Eric Mangini: Point Taken, Players Take Notice

So Braylon Edwards is on a plane to New York and his new team, what does this mean to the rest of the members of the Cleveland Browns?

This means that if you mess up real bad and do not adhere to head coach Eric Mangini's way of football, then you are disposable regardless of who you are, what you have done in the past, or when you were drafted.

Linebacker D'Qwell Jackson said, "I'm definitely surprised."

The overall reaction by most of the Browns players in the locker room when they found out that Edwards was traded to the Jets for receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnik, a 3rd and 5th round draft picks in 2010, was the same as Jackson's.

Mangini has said many times to his players and the media that a players personal conduct is of the utmost importance when off the football field, and the Edwards trade has now sent a message to all other Browns players saying either get with what Mangini is trying to accomplish with this team or you need to leave immediately.

What is next for the Browns?

There is the issue of trading one player for two and that means that a current member of the Browns' roster will be let go to open a spot of one of the two incoming players.

Also, with Stuckey being familiar with Mangini's system, it looks like the Browns will have the upper hand in this trade since Stuckey can possibly step right in and produce this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Mangini also said he talked with Edwards about the trade and told him this is a great opportunity for him because it is a new beginning for him in New York with a team that is in first place in their division.

According to several sources, the Jets were not the only team contacted about Edwards, but the other teams names were left unnamed.

Edwards has not commented on the trade yet.
