WWE SmackDown: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for Nov. 29

Ryan DilbertNov 29, 2016

Final battle preparations will mark the Nov. 29 WWE SmackDown.

Tuesday's show is the last chance for the blue brand to hype Sunday's TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view.

Dean Ambrose will gear up for his WWE World Championship match. Alexa Bliss will look to soften up the women's titleholder. And The Wyatt Family will seek to take down Jason Jordan and Chad Gable of American Alpha to claim the right to face the tag champs.

Columbia, South Carolina, is set to host a SmackDown packed with animosity and intrigue. Will Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton push aside American Alpha? Will we see a foreshadowing of what's to come with Undertaker?

Backstage news, the show's page on WWE.com and storyline analysis provide a glimpse of what to expect when SmackDown airs on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.

On Tap

The gauntlet isn't over for American Alpha.

After Gable and Jordan outlasted five other teams last Tuesday in a Tag Team Turmoil match, The Wyatt Family now stands in the way. American Alpha will battle Wyatt and Orton on this week's SmackDown to determine the No. 1 contender for the blue brand's tag titles.

WWE would be smart to build on Wyatt and Orton's huge win at Survivor Series. The duo led the way as SmackDown toppled Raw at the PPV.

Besting the popular American Alpha and feasting on Heath Slater and Rhyno are the ideal next steps for them.

Ambrose will bring back the The Ambrose Asylum on Tuesday's SmackDown with his buddy James Ellsworth as his guest.

The chinless wonder is now an official member of the SmackDown roster after winning his contract in a match against WWE world champ AJ Styles. He and Ambrose can discuss their common enemy as The Lunatic Fringe prepares for his title tilt against Styles at TLC.

News, Potential Spoilers

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc), WWE is considering a Styles-Undertaker match at the Royal Rumble. If that's the case, SmackDown may offer some hints regarding that future bout.

Undertaker returned before Survivor Series to announce that he was back. He didn't appear on last week's show.

Eva Marie fans seemingly won't have to wait long to see her return to SmackDown, but it won't be right away.

Anthony Riccobono of the International Business Times wrote of her, "She plans to make her return in the not-too-distant future." Eva Marie, who has been filming movies in recent weeks, told Riccobono, "I do think I'm ready to come back and shake things up, because I think the WWE Universe is tired of seeing something repeated."

It wouldn't be surprising if WWE were to start airing vignettes promoting her return.

SmackDown Streaks

American Alpha has ample momentum heading into its big showdown with Wyatt and Orton. Gable and Jordan have won three consecutive SmackDown matches, per Cagematch.net, including last week's Tag Team Turmoil match.

The duo is 6-1 in their last seven bouts overall. One more victory will equal a PPV title match, but American Alpha is likely to fall just short before that.

The Wyatt Family's heel status make it a better fit as Slater and Rhyno's TLC opponents.

Styles has been trending in the opposite direction compared to Gable and Jordan. Last week, he fell to Ellsworth in a ladder match.

That marked The Phenomenal One's second SmackDown loss in a row. And the champ is 4-6 in his last 10 bouts on the blue brand, per CageMatch.net

WWE has to work on presenting Styles as a more formidable force. Thanks to these recent defeats, three of which were against the lowly Ellsworth, he's looking like a bumbling fool right now.

Home Stretch for TLC Build

Becky Lynch will have to watch her back on Tuesday night. Alexa Bliss has made it clear that she has no issues with ambushing the SmackDown women's champ.

Last week, Bliss pounced on Lynch after The Irish Lass Kicker defeated Natalya.

That attack escalated a rivalry that has been one of SmackDown's best stories of late. The two warriors are certain to collide again ahead of their title match at Sunday's TLC event.

Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto in a chairs match is now an official part of that card, as well.

Corbin has made life hell for The King of Flight, interrupting his matches and attacking him from behind. Their feud began before SummerSlam with Corbin playing the bully and Kalisto the fed-up victim.

Kalisto hurt Corbin's knee, which prevented The Lone Wolf from wrestling on SmackDown's Survivor Series team.

Now a chairs-centered showdown is on the way. WWE is likely to play up that theme on Tuesday night with both men wielding the steel weapons.

SmackDown also promises to hype the latest battle between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler.

Last week, SmackDown general manager Daniel Bryan announced that The Showoff would get one last chance at The Miz's Intercontinental Championship. This two are set for a ladder match at TLC.

This rivalry has taken a back seat in recent weeks but needs to get some spotlight here. This is a prime opportunity for WWE to let Ziggler emote, show off The Miz's heel acumen and generate hype around the IC title.

WWE has to play up how high the stakes are here and end the Ziggler-Miz saga in explosive fashion.
