Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Mahmoud Dahoud and Will Hughes
Liverpool are said to be preparing a £25 million move for Borussia Monchengladbach star and Juventus target Mahmoud Dahoud, while Will Hughes of Derby County is reportedly not happy with the club's latest contract offer, opening the exit door.
According to Bild (h/t TalkSport), Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of Dahoud, who emerged as one of the Bundesliga's top young midfielders during the 2015-16 campaign.
The 20-year-old was born in Syria but has lived in Germany since infancy, and he's so far represented the world champions up until the under-21 level. He's expected to become a regular for the senior side very soon.

At club level, he bagged five goals in the Bundesliga last season and has become an important midfield player this campaign following the departures of Granit Xhaka and Havard Nordtveit.
Despite his young age, he has performed admirably for Gladbach this season, including a wonderful showing against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.
Here's a look at some of his highlights:
Dahoud is a superb prospect who profiles as a box-to-box midfielder at the highest level. He's already holding his own in the Bundesliga, but he's also consistently improved with Gladbach. He's expected to blossom into one of Germany's finest midfielders.
As one would expect, the competition to sign the youngster is fierce. Per TalkSport, Juventus have also been linked with Dahoud, and given their need for midfield depth following the sale of Paul Pogba, the Bianconeri are likely to break the bank for the German.
Others have also been linked, and Bleacher Report's Lars Pollman implored Borussia Dortmund to keep him in Germany:
Most of the ongoing speculation comes from a rumour Dahoud would be available for the small fee of just £8.5 million during the summer due to a clause in his contract, with some believing Gladbach would rather sell in January for a higher fee.
However, according to Dahoud's agent, Reza Fazeli, no such clause exists, per Ed Aarons of the Guardian:
"It is certain Mahmoud will stay with Gladbach for now. There has been a lot of interest in him, not just from Liverpool. But we have an agreement with Gladbach and everything has been postponed for next season.
We will have to wait and see what happens in the future but it will be up to the club to accept a fee they think is acceptable.
"
The absence of a release clause complicates matters, as Gladbach won't be forced into a sale and will obviously prefer not to do business for now after losing both Xhaka and Nordtveit.
A summer move seems more likely, but even then, the reported £25 million bid might not be enough.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror's James Nursey reported Hughes has rejected Derby's latest contract offer, as the Rams' proposal would not put him among the club's top earners, despite his importance to the team.
The midfielder has long been regarded as Derby's most impressive prospect and a top target for Premier League clubs, and he's been the team's main playmaker when healthy for some time now.
This contract situation could be what finally pushes Hughes out of the Derby exit door, although the youngster has been loyal to the Rams at every turn so far, and most assume the two parties will reach a consensus.
