Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Mamadou Sakho, Fresh Reds Rumours
Mamadou Sakho is reportedly "disgusted" by how he has been treated at Liverpool and wants to depart Anfield in January, with AC Milan and Inter Milan named as potential suitors.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has banished Sakho to the reserves this term, and the French centre-back has not made an appearance for Liverpool in 2016-17 following a number of controversies—including him being sent home from the club's pre-season tour of the United States.
According to Le Parisien (via the Daily Star's Rhys Turrell), despite Sakho recently suggesting he was still happy at the Merseyside outfit, he is "privately disgusted by his treatment at the club" and is ready to leave.

Via Turrell, the French newspaper reported both Milan clubs as a potential destination for the 26-year-old defender, as well as Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, while Klopp is also eager to move Sakho on.
Sakho's contract with Liverpool runs to 2020, but given his reported eagerness to leave Anfield and the club's willingness to sell, he could be available on a cut-price deal.
As a result, he could attract plenty of interest, as despite the controversies surrounding him—which also include a UEFA doping suspension last season—he has proved himself to be a top-class defender.
He was arguably the Merseysiders' best centre-back last season and has been a popular figure at Anfield since he moved to Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, per Reds writer Joel Rabinowitz:
Given that Liverpool's defence remains their key weakness, he could still be an asset to the club.
But Klopp seemingly does not see a place for Sakho in his side, and now that the player himself wants out, a January departure looks likely.
Elsewhere, Liverpool are reportedly "at the head of the pack" in the race to sign FC Porto's Hector Herrera in the summer.
According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola (via Goal), the Mexico international could be available for just half of his £40 million buyout clause having fallen out of favour at Porto this season.
The 26-year-old midfielder is a huge talent and was linked with Liverpool last summer, as well as Napoli and Juventus, per Goal.
Herrera could add further depth to Liverpool's central midfield, and he can play on the right flank. He also boasts defensive acumen, attacking flair and an ability to score spectacular goals, per Kick:
Given that Liverpool need cover and added quality in their engine room, Herrera could be an ideal signing as Klopp looks to further strengthen his already-impressive squad.
