ESPN College GameDay 2016: TV Schedule, Predictions and Location for Week 12

Chris RolingNov 18, 2016

After watching the USC Trojans upset the Washington Huskies, ESPN's College GameDay crew will switch gears in Week 12 and visit MAC territory for an encounter between the Buffalo Bulls and the No. 14 Western Michigan Broncos.

This showcase is all about the Broncos, an undefeated team that boats a Heisman Trophy contender in quarterback Zach Terrell, who sounds thrilled to have his team featured on College GameDay.

"We don't take that lightly," Terrell said, per Stats (via ESPN.com). "We're proud to have them here. For us football players, it's a dream come true. I know it was on my bucket list to go to a College GameDay. Well, College GameDay came to me."

Preview

Almost everything about the Broncos has been impressive this year.

One of two remaining undefeated teams left at the FBS level, the Broncos have a defense that has allowed 30 or more points just three times over 10 games. When Terrell hasn't been slicing up defenses through the air, Jarvion Franklin has been gashing them on the ground to the tune of 1,152 yards and 10 scores.

Most of the attention, of course, goes to Terrell. He has completed 70.3 percent of his passes this year with 23 touchdowns and one interception.

The story surrounding the Bulls isn't nearly as bright. Buffalo has won two games this year, though it does boast a rushing attack that's been responsible for 1,644 yards and 11 scores on 4.5 yards per carry.

Injury news struck the Bulls at the worst time, though, as Stats noted starting quarterback Tyree Jackson is questionable for Saturday's game. The start could go to senior Grant Rohach, who has attempted 27 passes with two interceptions this year. Jackson was also a big part of the rushing attack, having accounted for five touchdowns on the ground.

A silver lining for the Bulls exists—the Broncos didn't look great in a 37-21 victory against 3-8 Kent State last week. Heisman contender or not, Terrell attempted only 13 passes for 83 yards, and at one point the game was tied in the fourth quarter.

If Buffalo can learn from Kent State and contain Terrell, College GameDay might witness one of the year's biggest upsets.

Prediction

The writing seems to be planted on the wall in permanent marker for this one.

According to Odds Shark, the hosts are favored by a 34-point margin. Based on how Western Michigan looked last week, the 58-point over probably isn't the best idea here.

Still, Buffalo might not have a starting quarterback under center. Even if Terrell has another off day, the Franklin-led ground game shouldn't have a problem with controlling the pace in front of a friendly crowd.

With team and individual statements to be made under a national spotlight, look for the Broncos to pull ahead and never look back.

Prediction: Western Michigan 38, Buffalo 21
