Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts Betting Odds, Analysis, NFL Pick

OddsShark.comNov 16, 2016

The Tennessee Titans will be looking to post consecutive straight-up wins for just the second time in three years when they travel to Indianapolis on Sunday to battle the Colts.

The 5-5 Titans have alternated between SU wins and losses over their past four outings and are coming off a 47-25 victory over the Green Bay Packers last weekend as three-point home underdogs.

The 4-5 Colts have also struggled with consistency and dropped a 30-14 decision to the Kansas City Chiefs as 2.5-point underdogs in their most recent home contest. That loss ended a two-game SU and against-the-spread win streak on home turf.

Point spread: The Colts opened as 3.5-point favorites; the total was 53.5 early in the week, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark (line updates and matchup report).

Why the Titans can cover the spread

Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota has ignited the team's offense by throwing for multiple touchdowns in each of the last six games and 17 total during that stretch.

Also, the Titans' ground game has emerged as a serious offensive threat. Rusher DeMarco Murray has run for a score in each of the last five games and for over 100 yards in five of eight. Rookie Derrick Henry has also contributed with 128 total yards over the past two outings.

Why the Colts can cover the spread

The Colts have won three of their last four, both SU and ATS, when pegged as home favorites. Indianapolis has also dominated in recent dates with division rivals, going 18-4 SU in its past 22.

Colts pivot Andrew Luck has dominated Tennessee throughout his career, leading Indianapolis to SU wins in eight straight meetings and throwing 11 total touchdown passes over the past four.

The Titans have had a hard time containing opposing passers. The Tennessee defense has allowed over 300 passing yards in four of five and 16 total touchdown passes this season.

Smart pick

Indianapolis is 12-1 SU in its past 13 home dates with the Titans and covered in each the past four meetings while pegged as home chalk. However, the high-scoring Titans are 5-1 SU and ATS in their past six games as road underdogs of three or fewer points, which is where the line has moved. Tennessee also held opponents to 19 or fewer points in each of those outings.

Look for Tennessee to continue to rack up points in a upset outright victory over the Colts.

Betting trends

The total has gone under in 11 of the Titans' last 15 games on the road against the Colts.

The Titans are 0-10 SU and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games against the Colts.

The Colts are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games in November.
