NFL Mikee's Adventures In Fantasy Football: Week Four

Thomas MorelandOct 6, 2009

NFL Mikee made some good decisions this week, and a couple of bad ones. The good outweighed the bad, however, as I went 5-2 in fantasy football.

The 49ers crushed a few of my opponents this week, scoring between 31 and 45 points. That was a wise move, picking their defense up in some bye weeks.

Team One, NFL Mikee's Molemen, won this week to reach 3-1. The 49ers' defense led all scorers with 39 points.

Steve Smith threw in 25.40 and this team of those two players, plus Pierre Thomas, Andre Johnson, Roy Williams, Darren Sproles, Heath Miller, and Brett Favre rocked.

Next week, we will use Rashard Mendenhall and Knowshon Moreno for Sproles and Thomas, who are off.

Kurt Warner will be activated, as he will have to put up good numbers to beat Houston's offense. Plus, we will use the Philly defense playing Tampa Bay.

Team Two, the TWO Wreckers, also won easily to improve to 4-0.

Matt Schaub started at quarterback because Tom Brady had the Ravens' defense to contend with. Brady has Denver this week, so I will again use Schaub, who has more yardage and touchdowns than Brady anyway.

Vincent Jackson, Hines Ward, Randy Moss, and Adrian Peterson all started. Correll Buckhalter got nine points, Heath Miller had a nice game and John Carney got six.

Again the 49ers' defense grabbed 39 to lead the way. All the same starters will go next week except Jackson, who is off.

Bernard Berrian will take his place, Kevin Smith will be back in, and we will use the Steelers' defense, who is playing Detroit (maybe without Stafford). Joe Nedney will be my kicker.

Team three, NFL Mikee's Maulers also got a win this week to pull to 2-2. Drew Brees only scored eight points and he is off next week. I will go back to Kurt Warner as my quarterback on this team. The 49ers' defense netted 31 points to seal the victory this week.

Tim Hightower will get a shot, as Sproles has the week off on this team. Brian Westbrook is back in, and Santana Moss will get a turn at wide receiver.

Brent Celek will start at tight end, and Steve Smith, who is turning into a monster fantasy player, will also start. Kenny Britt will be my flex player. Joe Nedney is the kicker and and the 49ers will be the defense again.

Team Four, in an ESPN league, the South Florida Tarpons lost again, and fell to 1-3. This team is having trouble, as its opponent always seems to score a bit more.

They took a loss with 87 points and Mark Sanchez with -1, plus Reggie Bush with only one point killed my chances for a win. The Niners' defense scored 31, but it wasn't enough to make up for low totals from other guys.

It's a bye week for Bush, Forte, Johnny Knox, and John Carney, so it's another big shake up week for this poor team.

Kerry Collins will start, and he really needs a good week for the Titans. DeAngelo Williams will start at one running back, and Willis McGahee at the other running back.

At RB/WR will be Steve Breaston. The other receivers will be Hines Ward and Devone Bess. The tight end will be John Carlson, who is getting one last chance to do something after only one good week back on opening day.

The defense will be San Francisco again, and kicking will be Matt Prater. This team is not very good, but it will keep on plugging away.

Tean Five, The Fort Myers Mustangs, won and is now at 3-0-1. This team won comfortably with a nice balanced attack. Joe Flacco had 16, Steve Slaton had 20, and Ronnie Brown had 23.

Johhny Knox had nine, Randy Moss with 11, and Jerricho Cotchery with seven. Heath Miller had a big night with 19, the Ravens' defense scored 10, and Mason Crosby added a few.

In Week Five, this team will start Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Steve Slaton, Ronnie Brown, Randy Moss, Jerricho Cotchery, Tony Gonzalez, the Ravens' defense, and Joe Nedney. This looks pretty good for Week Five.

Team Six, The LaBelle Cowboys, are my worst team so far. The lineups have not been terrible, but they keep losing. They are now 0-4.

This week, we will start Kurt Warner, Rashard Mendenhall, Donald Brown, Steve Smith, Larry Fitzgerald, and Hines Ward.

Brent Celek will be the tight end, the Colts will have the defense, and the kicker will be Ryan Longwell. Maybe we can get a win this week...maybe.

Team Seven, The North Fort Myers Warlords, are now 4-0.

We made a small adjustment this week, dropping Tashard Choice, and picking up Mendenhall from the Steelers after that good performance last week.

Starting this week will be Kurt Warner, Thomas Jones, Rashard Mendenhall, Larry Fitzgerald, Hines Ward, and Percy Harvin.

Brent Celek will be the tight end, the Indianapolis Colts have the defense, and Joe Nedney will kick.

Team One: 3-1

Team Two :4-0

Team Three:2-2

Team Four:1-3

Team Five:3-0-1

Team Six: 0-4

Team Seven: 4-0

Not bad for a fantasy rookie, so far. Have a great fantasy weekend.
