Manchester United Transfer News: Guilherme Arana Talks Reported, Latest Rumours
Manchester United have reportedly made contact with the agent of Corinthians left-back Guilherme Arana ahead of a possible move.
According to Alessio Alaimo of Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Lucas Sposito of Sport Witness), his agent "has been in the Red Devils’ facilities to initiate the negotiations for the signing."
Further, with the Brazilian club struggling financially, it's expected United could take advantage of that if they attempt to sign him.

The 19-year-old is an exciting attacking full-back who could help add pace and width to the Red Devils' side.
Here's a look at the other qualities he could bring to Old Trafford:
Arana could also provide some much-needed cover for Luke Shaw.
The Englishman got last season off to a promising start before suffering a broken leg, and he is yet to rediscover that form, as football writer Liam Canning noted:
One of his worst performances this season came in the 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce, in which he was run ragged by Jeremain Lens.
Squawka's Mitch Waddon shared the numbers behind the subpar effort:
Aside from moving Matteo Darmian over from the right, United's only senior options to provide cover for Shaw are Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo.
Blind has been a strong performer for the Red Devils and is comfortable at left-back but has more frequently been used in the centre, while Rojo is far from convincing in either position.
Shaw still has a long-term future at Old Trafford, but the arrival of Arana could provide him with valuable competition and ease the reliance on Rojo.
Meanwhile, Juan Mata will reportedly hold talks with United boss Jose Mourinho next summer to discuss his own future with the club.

His father told Hakan Atesler of Turkish outlet Fanatik (h/t Charles Perrin of the Express): "This season we have entered a new path with Mourinho. However, at the end of the season we will sit down and evaluate our future more seriously. Fenerbahce one of the options? Why not?"
Mata was expected to be pushed out of the exit door at Old Trafford upon Mourinho's arrival—as he was when the Special One returned to Chelsea—but the Spaniard has been a key player for United this season making 15 appearances.
United shared his winning goal against Manchester City in October:
As ESPN's Alex Shaw noted, the playmaker has contributed much in almost three years at the club:
At the end of the season, Mata will have just one year left on his contract, but "it is thought he has a one-year rolling deal option inserted into his deal," according to Perrin.
Given how well he's performed—and the key role he's played thus far under Mourinho—it seems likely the club would aim to keep him.
