Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith's brother was found dead with a gunshot wound Sunday night in Valdosta, Georgia, per the Associated Press.
On Monday, the team confirmed Smith's 25-year-old brother, Brian, was killed, per the AP.
Smith posted an emotional message on Instagram: "I'm just broke man really lost my brotha man!! I love you bruh!!!"

The police report indicated Smith's brother was killed in a homicide, per the AP. Officers responded to a reported shooting and found him dead at a residence. No arrests have been reported.
According to Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com, Telvin Smith played football at Lowndes County High School in Valdosta before signing with the Florida State Seminoles.
DiRocco reported he will take a leave of absence from the team for several days. It's unclear if he'll return before Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
