Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Alexis Sanchez and Moise Kean

Tom SunderlandNov 14, 2016

Arsenal are reportedly poised to go head-to-head with Italian giants Juventus, who will lodge a big-money bid for Alexis Sanchez in the hope of luring him away from north London, while the Bianconeri look to have won the race for Gunners target Moise Kean.

Italian outlet Calciomercato reported Juve are ready to sanction Sanchez's return to Serie A with a €60 million (£51.5 million) offer, which would trump the €50 million (£43 million) Manchester City are reportedly willing to pay for the forward.

And it appears Sanchez's contract situation in north London could mean a departure from the club is possible, with the Gunners no closer to agreeing a new deal with their star forward and his current contract expiring in 18 months.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Sunday Supplement panel, the Mirror's Arsenal columnist, John Cross, revealed that while Mesut Ozil looks likely to pen new terms with Arsenal, Sanchez's future isn't quite as cemented:

"

Of the two players Arsenal are trying to negotiate with at the moment - Ozil and Sanchez - Ozil is much more likely to sign.

I think Ozil will sign, but Sanchez is a bit more problematic. He has just 18 months left now. He is a very good player, he had a very good first season and was not so good last season - it was disrupted by injury.

And I still think it's a little bit up in the air over whether he will sign.

"

City's chances of recruiting Sanchez directly from the Emirates Stadium may be slim in any case given Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's reluctance to sell his star players to direct Premier League rivals.

Juventus already splurged heavily this past summer with a £76 million move to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli, and the interest in former Udinese star Sanchez makes sense after he was one of nine Premier League players nominated for FIFA Player of the Year:

The Chile international has displayed his importance to Wenger this season by scoring eight goals in 15 appearances, some of which have come up front while playing in a more advanced striker's role.

That kind of versatility is part of what makes the winger so essential to Arsenal's cause, and Big Sport helped illustrate his value at the Emirates after it emerged Sanchez picked up a calf injury during the international break:

Teenage sensation Kean has been in glittering form for Juve's youth teams on trial, and Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (h/t TalkSport) reported he's prepared to sign his first professional contract with the club.

Football writer Liam Canning recently confirmed Kean is represented by Mino Raiola, the same agent who facilitated Paul Pogba's world-record transfer from Turin to Manchester United this past summer:

The 16-year-old has scored in each of his three outings for Juve's Primavera team and taken his place on the bench of Massimiliano Allegri's senior side seven times since mid-October.

Arsenal and Manchester City were two of the outfits said to be raising interest in Kean's signature, but it seems success at the Old Lady has been enough to tempt the prodigy into continuing his progress with Juve.
