Long the Latest Injury for Banged-Up Vikings

The 31-year-old veteran suffered the injury on the team's final drive, with Minnesota hoping for a potential game-winning score. But Long was carted off the field, and quarterback Sam Bradford was sacked on the next play to end any hope of a comeback.

Long was playing his fourth game for the Vikings as a fill-in for the injured Matt Kalil and Andre Smith.

The former No. 1 overall pick began his career by earning four straight Pro Bowl nods with the Miami Dolphins. However, he's bounced around the league since then, making stops with the then-St. Louis Rams, Atlanta Falcons and now the Vikings.

While he has often played well on the field, injuries have remained a problem throughout his career. Long played only 11 games combined in the last two seasons and hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2010.

The Vikings have dealt with a long list of injuries throughout the season and will have another spot to fill with Long done for the year. Jeremiah Sirles will likely see an increase in playing time at tackle going forward.
