Jameis Winston Runs Back 23 Yards to Avoid Rush, Hits Mike Evans for Big Gain

This was just how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drew it up.

While avoiding the Chicago Bears pass rush on a 3rd-and-10 in the second half Sunday, quarterback Jameis Winson ran back 23 yards into his own end zone while scooting around defenders.

Somehow, he escaped and found wide receiver Mike Evans for a 39-yard gain.

On the next play, things weren’t so difficult. Winston found a wide-open Freddie Martino for a 43-yard score, giving Tampa Bay a 24-10 lead.
