Kovalev vs. Ward Press Conference: Watch Live Stream of Pre-Fight Event

Kevin McRaeNov 17, 2016

Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward will meet Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the unified light heavyweight championship and, possibly, pound-for-pound supremacy. It's exceedingly rare for two consensus top P4P fighters to meet in the prime of their careers, but that's the situation in this fight.

Can Kovalev extend his light heavyweight dominance? Or will Ward be able to move up in weight and take down the meanest junkyard dog on this side of the tracks?

Thursday afternoon, the two men will meet for one of the final times ahead of their huge showdown.

Kovalev is the probably the meanest fighter in the game today. He's got tremendous punching power and quickly established himself as must-see TV since bursting on the scene in a big way back in 2013.

He holds bludgeoning wins over Jean Pascal (twice) and Bernard Hopkins, two former undisputed 175-pound champs, and will be looking to top that with the biggest win of his career against an undefeated challenger.

Ward made his name by dominating the Super Six super middleweight tournament to become undisputed champion while knocking off the likes of Mikkel Kessler and Carl Froch.

He moved up to light heavyweight earlier this year and has scored a pair of convincing victories to set himself up for a crack at the championship. But Kovalev is the biggest and strongest opponent of his career, so this will tell us a lot about both men.
