Brett Favre: Defying Father Time
The Gunslinger was back to his old form. Anyone who thought the 40-year-old QB from Mississippi was old and didn’t have “it” anymore should stop doubting. He threw seeds all night long, fitting the ball into tight spots, with enough mustard on it that would make a college QB jealous.
Does this mean we should crown the Vikings as the Super Bowl favorites or as the team to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl? I, for one, think it is still too early to do so. I may be in the minority, but there is still plenty of football left to play, and we saw what happened when people started crowing Favre with the Jets.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
But what we did see last night was an artist out there, creating (or should I say adding) to his already considered masterpiece of a career. Add to that what he did the week before, as he continued to defy all odds by throwing a heroic, incredibly placed ball in the waning seconds of his battle against the SF 49ers to win the game.
To be honest, I’m not a big Favre fan. I think he is somewhat selfish, vain, and has a bigger ego than most think. But this does not cloud my thinking when looking at his body of work. And it certainly does not make me think any less of him or his career as I watch how he is currently performing.
As I watch the Silver-Fox carve defenses and continue to disregard father time, I have to sit back and realize just how lucky we are. Not just with what he is doing now, but with all those special and amazing moments he has given us over his career (too many to list, but I know any fan of the NFL can think of them).
In this day and age, when there are players who are barely 22, careers last an average of 10 years, and the older ex-players are in the booth, it is refreshing to see an old warrior out there battling. He’s playing with the gusto that looks like a rookie, not like a 40-year-old who can barely throw a 10 yard out. Enjoy it while it lasts everyone for the end maybe near, and as we all know, father time is undefeated.
