Joseph Randle Charged After Ripping Jail Cell TV off Wall

Rob GoldbergNov 10, 2016

Things continue to get worse for former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle.

Already spending time in jail, the former NFL player was charged with criminal damage to property after allegedly ripping a television off the wall and breaking it beyond repair, per TMZ Sports. The incident took place on July 28 at Sedgwick County Jail in Kansas.

Randle is serving time due to a handful of charges in March, including aggravated battery, threats, possession of marijuana and interfering with law enforcement.

The 24-year-old has dealt with a handful of legal issues over the past few years, facing six different arrests in a span of 17 months. The first came in October 2014 when he was caught shoplifting.

In June, he later picked up another charge while in jail for threatening a deputy on May 14.

The legal trouble ruined what was a promising NFL career for Randle, a fifth-round pick in the 2013 draft. In parts of three seasons, he rushed for 822 yards on 4.5 per carry to go with nine touchdowns. He also had 170 receiving yards in his career.

While he started the first six games for the Cowboys in 2015, they released him in November of that year.
