Liverpool Transfer News: Christian Pulisic Blow Dealt by Dortmund, Fresh Rumours
Liverpool have received a blow in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic, as the Bundesliga side are hoping to see him remain at the club on a new contract.
According to Sports Illustrated (h/t Goal.com's Stefan Coerts), sporting director Michael Zorc said:
"There have been some offers for him in the summer window from England and from German clubs, but we would like to have him here and develop him here.
We did not educate him to sell him. We have a long-running contract until 2019, but because of his development the club is ready to speak to him to prolong his contract at any time.

The 18-year-old's current contract is set to expire in 2019. The youngster broke into Dortmund's side last season at just 17 and has set about establishing himself in the team, scoring twice and providing six assists in 12 appearances this season.
Indeed, as football writer Cristian Nyari noted, the winger is a regular for Thomas Tuchel's side:
Bleacher Report UK's Lars Pollmann believes his form is warranting his frequent position in the starting XI despite his youth:
Pulisic possesses great pace and dribbling ability, which he uses to terrorise defences with his direct runs, while his composure and intelligent movement belies his tender years.
Here's a look at what he could offer the Reds:
Aside from Sadio Mane, Liverpool lack width among their attacking players, as neither Philippe Coutinho nor Roberto Firmino is a natural winger.
Pulisic could help in that regard, and his pace would help him fit in with the Reds' system as they maraud forward at speed and in numbers.
It's likely the American—who already has eight senior international caps—would want to remain at Dortmund given the game time he's enjoying, but he may well be open to a move to the Premier League at some point.
Pulisic's passion for the game emerged when he spent a year living in England as a child, per Archie Rhind-Tutt for MailSport:
While he grew up as a fan of Manchester United, a move to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool would likely appeal. Prising him away from BVB will be exceedingly difficult, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he'll be turning out at Anfield in the future.
Meanwhile, according to the Liverpool Echo's Neil Jones, West Bromwich Albion are interested in a loan move for Mamadou Sakho in January.

The 26-year-old has not played for the Reds this season after falling out with Klopp for disciplinary reasons.
Sakho emerged as arguably Liverpool's best defender last year, and his presence could help the side given they've only kept one clean sheet this season. But with even midfielder Lucas Leiva ahead of him in the pecking order, it appears there's no way back for the Frenchman.
If the Baggies can land him, they'll have succeeded in an impressive coup.
