Manchester United Transfer News: Memphis Depay Loan Eyed by Everton, Top Rumours
Everton are reportedly hoping to land Manchester United winger Memphis Depay on loan in January.
According to the MailOnline's Simon Jones, Toffees boss Ronald Koeman believes he can kickstart his compatriot's career with a temporary switch during the second half of the season, as well as boost his squad's strength in depth.
At Goodison Park, he would be competing with Kevin Mirallas and Yannick Bolasie for a place on the flanks.

However, as Koeman doesn't seem overly convinced by Gerard Deulofeu or Aaron Lennon—who have made three and zero starts in the Premier League respectively this season—there would likely be plenty of scope for him to feature. He could also be moved centrally in support of Romelu Lukaku.
Memphis struggled last season under Louis van Gaal and finished the campaign with seven goals and as many assists in all competitions.
As noted by Full Time Devils' Sam Homewood, the 22-year-old has struggled for game time this term:
Indeed, under Jose Mourinho, he has featured for just 20 minutes in the Premier League, divided between four cameo appearances.
He does have qualities he could bring to Everton's team, however. Memphis possesses plenty of pace, and as WhoScored.com demonstrated, he's also a tricky dribbler:
He could also be a prolific goalscorer for the Toffees if they could bring out the best in him—he netted 28 times for PSV Eindhoven in the season before joining United.
A move away from Old Trafford could revitalise his career and lead to a successful return to United or a permanent transfer—either way, the youngster's development is being done no favours by sitting on the bench with the Red Devils, so some sort of move in January does seem likely.
Meanwhile, on-loan United prospect Andreas Pereira could be prepared to cut short his season-long loan to Granada if game time is on offer at Old Trafford, according to the Mirror's Jack Lang.
According to football writer Andy Mitten, Pereira is enjoying a positive spell in La Liga:
He has made 10 appearances in the Spanish top flight this year, starting nine of them.
However, even if Memphis were loaned out and Henrikh Mkhitaryan's inexplicable struggle for game time continues, it's difficult to see Pereira getting close to the minutes he'd receive with Granada were he to return to Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old is an exciting prospect, but he's best served staying in Andalusia and developing his game.
