Manchester City Transfer News: Sergio Aguero Praises Gabriel Jesus, Top Rumours

Sergio Aguero has complimented Brazil wonderkid Gabriel Jesus ahead of the teenager's move to Manchester City to partner with the Argentina international in the Sky Blues' attack.

Aguero has stated he is looking forward to playing with the talented Sao Paulo-born starlet. But first, the strikers will face each other in international competition as their countries battle it out in Belo Horizonte on Thursday night.

Speaking about the youngster's potential, Aguero told Gabriel Pazini of Goal:

 “It will be a pleasure to play against Gabriel Jesus. He is an excellent forward and will be a great team mate."

Jesus sealed a £28 million transfer to the Sky Blues after manager Pep Guardiola hand-picked him to join his revolution in the north-west, per Jack Lang of the Mirror. Guardiola personally pursued the attacker as Manchester United and Barcelona threatened to derail the move.

The player explained why his desire to join City over their rivals became strong, as the Guardian's Alfredo Spalla reported:

It was a complicated decision, but in the end my desire to learn won. The presence of Guardiola as a manager at City and the fact that it is a great club were very important factors in my final decision. Guardiola's phone call was a huge part of me deciding to go there. It made me realise that I'd love to work with him. I don't know him personally yet but he already made me feel very safe about his project there.

The 19-year-old has remained on loan at Palmeiras after signing in the summer, and the goals have continued to flow. He has scored 15 in all competitions and provided four assists, according to WhoScored.com.

Jesus has the ability to play across the attack. He was a key component in his country's gold-medal success at the recent Olympic Games on home soil. 

Brazil icon Ronaldo has also lauded the young player, comparing his talents to his own, per Lang:

"I see similarities... him being so young but already having achieved so much and having so much responsibility," he said. "He's got a fantastic future ahead of him and he's already enchanting us with what he's doing."

In other news, City's interest in Arsenal's Hector Bellerin appears to have run its course. The Spain international signed a six-year deal to remain at the Gunners.

John Cross of the Mirror reported the defender will become one of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's biggest earners "on over £100,000 per week." The £30 million deal is designed to end speculation about the speed merchant's future after he attracted interest from Guardiola and former club Barcelona.

Jesus is set to become a star in the Premier League. City fans may not yet know the awesome talent they have signed.

The Brazilian is a chameleon at the point of the attack He is equally comfortable at finishing in front of goal as he is at running the inside channels.

He could form the most exciting attack in England with Aguero, and partnering with the hotshot Argentinian will only develop his game to new levels.
