WWE Superstars Who Will Benefit Most from Survivor Series Elimination Matches

Ryan DilbertNov 8, 2016

The monsters will rule at WWE Survivor Series 2016.

Braun Strowman and Nia Jax are poised to create career-changing moments at the Nov. 20 pay-per-view. The event's elimination matches are the perfect stage for the kind of destruction and dominance that beasts like Strowman and Jax dish out.

This year's Survivor Series will be all about brand warfare when Raw and SmackDown collide in a trio of elimination bouts.

The male Superstars from each show will battle in a Survivor Series match. Five female Superstars and five tag teams from each brand will also meet in the PPV's signature format.

These showdowns promise to be showcases for newcomers, emerging stars and the most intimidating of gladiators. Hints that the powerhouses will rule the roost aired on Monday's Raw, and WWE's overall booking of these up-and-comers suggests that Survivor Series will be their coming-out party.

American Alpha

1 of 5

American Alpha is due for an impressive showing.

The former NXT tag team champs stormed onto SmackDown after the brand split and looked unstoppable. It was clear that WWE had high hopes for the duo.

Heath Slater and Rhyno's rise leading up to Backlash pushed Jason Jordan and Chad Gable to the side, however.

Survivor Series is the perfect time to reignite American Alpha's fire. The team is fresh off a blink-of-an-eye win over The Spirit Squad. The two are bound to impress in the 10-on-10 elimination match against Raw.

Gable and Jordan's high-energy offense will be a good fit for the bout, too. Look for Jordan to clean house at one point during the action and score a number of eliminations.

WWE is likely to use Survivor Series as a jumping-off point for American Alpha as the squad charges toward title contention.

Big Cass

2 of 5

At some point during the 10-on-10 tag team elimination match, Big Cass will clobber foe after foe with his boot. The NXT transplant is in line for a big moment at Survivor Series.

WWE has been high on him and Enzo Amore since they arrived on the main roster after WrestleMania 32.

And while Amore has led the way on the mic, Cass has been the group's wrecking ball. That promises to hold true at Survivor Series, as the big man will knock over SmackDown's tag teams.

His dominant stretch promises to look a lot like when he left Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens reeling early in their Aug. 29 Fatal 4-Way match on Raw.

And just like Reigns' memorable showing at Survivor Series 2013, Cass will make his mark by eliminating opponent after opponent.

Braun Strowman

3 of 5

When Raw's male Superstars clash with SmackDown's top males, Strowman will be among the last men standing.

The focus heading into the bout will largely be on the tension between teammates and whether The Shield will reunite, but Strowman will feast on SmackDown's stars. A signature moment awaits him.

WWE has booked him to be unstoppable. Strowman has beaten down jobbers, floored Sin Cara and run over Sami Zayn in the midst of a push.

That continued on Monday's Raw when Strowman battled his Survivor Series teammates. The monster threw his foes around and only fell when they ganged up on him.

As Chair Shot Reality host Justin LaBar tweeted, WWE is using Survivor Series "to really elevate Braun Strowman, who is gifted for his size & quick learning."

That will be abundantly clear at the PPV. Strowman is bound to wreak havoc against SmackDown, setting him up for a boost up the company ladder.

Bray Wyatt

Something awaits Bray Wyatt on the horizon.

Now that Randy Orton has joined The Wyatt Family, the faction has suddenly grown stronger and more intriguing. They will fight alongside each other at Survivor Series in the men's five-on-five elimination match.

It feels as if this is a precursor to something major for The Eater of Worlds. As LaToya Ferguson of the A.V. Club wrote, "This story is clearly going to bigger places soon."

At Survivor Series, Wyatt won't only have the opportunity to take out U.S. champ Roman Reigns and universal titleholder Kevin Owens, but he will also get to play puppet master. He will instruct and direct Orton during the matchup. Perhaps he will even be able to pull the strings of his former protege, Strowman.

This will play up his ability to control others and make him one of the top talking points following the PPV.

Wyatt has been on the edge of being one of SmackDown's marquee stars. With Orton's help against a Raw team ripe for implosion, Survivor Series is likely to be a stage where Wyatt will shine and move up the blue brand's ranks.

Nia Jax

5 of 5

As Jax spun Alicia Fox by the hair and hurled her across the ring on Monday's Raw, fans saw a glimpse of what the powerhouse will dish out at Survivor Series during the female Superstars' five-on-five elimination bout.

Like Strowman, WWE has presented Jax as a force of nature. She has gobbled up jobbers and blasted Bayley with little effort on Halloween. This momentum will continue at the PPV.

And after taking out the likes of Naomi and Carmella, Jax will force herself into the top tier of the women's division.

She has mostly existed outside the title picture, thriving in a world of her own. But now that she will be able to outdo Charlotte Flair and walk all over her SmackDown foes, she will position herself for a run at the title.

Survivor Series will be Jax's biggest night to date, a demonstration of her predatory ways.
