Michael Thomas Juggles Ball, Falls to Ground While Making TD Catch
David McCrackenNov 6, 2016
New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Michael Thomas has been emerging this season as a devastating weapon for Drew Brees. On Sunday, he put the NFL on notice with a circus catch against the San Francisco 49ers.
With 13:13 remaining in the game, Thomas hauled in a 32-yard bomb from Drew Brees despite smothering coverage from San Francisco's Tramaine Brock for his second touchdown of the game. He reached out over Brock's shoulders and batted the ball back to himself, all the while ensuring he stayed in bounds.
That grab gave Thomas five catches for 73 yards and two scores on the day. Following Wil Lutz's successful extra-point attempt, the Saints went up 38-23 on Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers.
