Ezekiel Elliott's Domestic Violence Accuser Alleged 2nd Incident in Florida

Adam WellsNov 5, 2016

The same woman who accused Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott of abusing her in July made a second allegation of domestic violence "months before the NFL draft."

According to an incident report from the Aventura Police Department obtained Friday by USA Today's Tom Pelissero and A.J. Perez, police responded to a call at Elliott's apartment February 12 about an altercation, but officers did not see any visible signs of injury on the accuser and she declined to go to the hospital.

Miami-Dade State Attorney spokesperson Terry Chavez told USA Today "the case was not forwarded to prosecutors for review" and there's no record of the accuser pursuing charges against Elliott on her own.

In July, the same woman accused Elliott of abusing her and shared a series of Instagram posts in which her arms, legs and neck were covered in bruises.

Two months later, the Columbus, Ohio, City Attorney's Office cleared Elliott because details about the alleged incident were inconsistent and there wasn't enough evidence to bring a case against him.

While Elliott was cleared of those charges, the NFL continues to investigate the original allegations to determine if he will be suspended under the league's domestic violence policy.

Principal assistant city attorney in Columbus Robert S. Tobias told Pelissero and Perez his office did not have prior knowledge of a police report and didn't attempt to acquire it, though he did note the accuser brought up a prior incident during her interview when she said Elliott had injured her in the past.

Pelissero and Perez noted it is unclear if the NFL is aware of the allegations made against Elliott in February and what impact that could have on its current investigation.
