Michael Crabtree Meeting With 49ers Today
On the surface, all this means is that Crabtree doesn't actually want to sit out the entire season, and the 'Niners will probably win this contract battle.
This doesn't make Crabtree a hot commodity all of a sudden, however, as he's likely to be a little out of shape. It's also highly unlikely Mike Singletary throws a rookie receiver with a bad attitude into the starting lineup.

Colts Release Kenny Moore
Eli Manning Gets Second Opinion on Heel
Manning and others have confirmed that he does in fact have plantar fascia, a dangerous and potentially lingering foot injury. This injury is reportedly extremely painful and can lead to further injury if not rested.
While the Giants would be best advised to sit Manning against an easy Raiders opponent next week (especially with the game at home), the pain-tolerant Manning doesn't seem likely to go down without a fight.
Mike Tomlin Quiet About Steelers Starting Running Back
Willie Parker is still nursing his turf toe injury, and Mendenhall just cruised for 120-plus rushing yards and two scores on Sunday.
The Steelers face the Lions in week five as well, which would put rushing back Parker a very low priority. It's now a safe assumption that the two backs will split the carries when Parker is fully healthy again, but it's quite clear that Mendenhall is ready to take over.
NFL Investigating Braylon Edwards
We knew he was in a bit of trouble after being accused of punching a club promoter, but few thought it was this serious.
Edwards hasn't done anything violent in his past, so even if charges are pressed, it's unlikely the NFL will suspend him. Regardless, Edwards' horrible zero-catch performance on Sunday begs you to pick up Mohamed Massaquoi if you're hurting at receiver.
Matt Hasselbeck Will Try to Practice on Wednesday
This is good news, but it doesn't mean he'll play. However, the Seahawks are 0-3 in the 2.5 games that Hasselbeck has missed, so getting him back as soon as possible is probably a top priority.
Still, Seneca Wallace has been playing okay, and Seattle gets a decent matchup with a beatable Jacksonville secondary next week.
Marion Barber Expected to Face Kansas City
Who told you different? Of course, Barber has been nicked up for weeks, but no damage he took on against Denver should hold him out.
His start against the Broncos on Sunday suggests he's close to full health, which means his value should be back on the rise, and Tashard Choice's could be dropping rather quickly.
JaMarcus Russell Getting Fined Routinely
What else do you expect when Oakland's "star" quarterback continues to miss practices and report overweight?
Throw in his "gaudy" 39.8 completion percentage, and it's crazy to think the Raiders would want to move in another direction, right?
