Vainglory Adding In-Game Streaming and Replays
As esports collectively continues to grow, the bar is continually raised for what the audience and player base each expect from top-tier titles. Wednesday, Super Evil Megacorp will unveil a bevy of replay and streaming features for Vainglory that will both enhance the content creator experience and give players more tools to improve their game through analysis and sharing of gameplay.
Starting with the upcoming Patch 1.24, players will now be able to record and stream their games direct from the Vainglory client, simplifying the process of sharing gameplay footage with their friends and audiences. Footage is captured directly on the player's mobile device, allowing for content creators to enhance and manipulate their content in unique ways that were not previously possible.
The real win here, though, is for the Vainglory esports scene. Players will now have access to features previously only available on professional tournament broadcasts. The ability to re-watch and record full replays will include a feature to control the camera through pan, zoom and free movement as well as slow-motion playback and automatic highlighting of important gameplay moments.
Being able to learn from mistakes as well as the gameplay of others is key to improving the overall level of play in any game. With the replay tools highlighting key moments automatically, players will be able to analyze the exact time when the tide of battle turned, see how other others in a match were able to gain an advantage in the jungle, or track the ups and downs of play throughout a match. And with the ability for anyone to share their VODs, players can also learn from others and analyze their competition's play.
The fact that Super Evil Megacorp is releasing replay features before other top games such as Overwatch or League of Legends is a large step forward for Vainglory esports. Add in that they are doing this on mobile platforms and it is all the more impressive. We will continue to update you with more information on these new features as they develop.
