Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Geoffrey Kondogbia, Nathaniel Clyne Rumours
Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Inter Milan star Geoffrey Kondogbia, who is out of favour at the San Siro.
The 23-year-old only moved to the Serie A giants back in 2015, but his lack of first-team action has seen him linked elsewhere around Europe ahead of the January transfer window.
And according to Goal Italia, Liverpool will be one of the big clubs chasing his signature (via Tom Olver of Metro).

A skilful, powerful midfielder, Kondogbia rose to prominence at Sevilla in 2012 before a big-money transfer saw him head back to his homeland with AS Monaco.

It was with the Ligue 1 side that the 23-year-old flourished. His exemplary displays in the heart of midfield were integral in the team’s success on both domestic and European stages.
In fact, he stole to show in a Champions League clash at Arsenal, when he opened the scoring in a 3-1 victory.
The Reds have been missing an aggressive dictator in the heart of midfield since Steven Gerrard packed his bags, but it’s safe to say Kondogbia could plug such a hole. Here’s what he could bring to the table at Anfield:
The Frenchman is also drawing interest from Marseille, although Liverpool may well have an advantage when it comes to a bidding war.
Olver writes that Kondogbia is a big Liverpool fan and would likely be tempted by the chance of joining the club.
Elsewhere, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken out on Nathaniel Clyne’s future after the England star was linked with a move to Barcelona.
Alec Shilton of the Sun recently revealed that the Spanish giants are looking at Clyne as a long-term replacement for Dani Alves.

However, when Klopp was asked to comment on the speculation surrounding Clyne and team-mate Philippe Countinho’s links to Real Madrid, he said it’s nothing but a positive, according to Dan Gibbs of Daily Express:
“That’s a really good sign! What can I say? It’s better that they talk about Real Madrid and Barcelona. Do they want to get them in winter or the next window? Do they think they can buy Clyney in winter? Come on. It’s nice but not important.”
Liverpool have started the season in fine fettle and finally look like title contenders once again.
January could prove important in their quest for domestic glory, as hanging on to prize assets and making a few shrewd investments could give them the required boost for silverware.
