Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid began his NBA career on a positive note Wednesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With 8:17 to go in the first quarter, the rookie buried a turnaround jumper before annihilating a Russell Westbrook layup attempt on OKC’s next possession:

Embiid missed the last two seasons because of injuries after getting drafted third overall in 2014. It looks like he was worth the wait.
