Poker Hand Gets Heated, Stakes Rise When Player Accuses Opponent of Bullying
Kyle NewportOct 26, 2016
Poker can be a mental game as much as any sport, so it's up to the players to decide how they want to play.
Some will keep to themselves, and others will do their best to try to gain any sort of edge. When those two types clash, tensions can rise—and subsequently, so can the stakes.
When Will Kassouf and Griffin Benger met at this year's World Series of Poker, tempers flared. Kassouf has made a point of trying to talk his way into his opponents' heads. When he tried that on Benger, the table got heated, as Kassouf was accused of bullying.
The intense confrontation led to a quick resolution of the hand—no messing around.
