Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Marco Verratti and Kieran Tierney
The agent of Paris Saint-Germain start Marco Verratti maintains his client is calm and focused amid rumours of a rift between him and manager Unai Emery, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Juventus watching. Meanwhile, the Gunners have received a boost in the chase for Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb (h/t TalkSport), Verratti's agent Donato Di Campli was asked about the Italian's situation in the French capital, and Di Campli emphasised Verratti's calm in his response: "I can't say much, I prefer not to say much. What's certain is that Marco is absolutely serene. He's very calm."

Per the report, the French press claims a rift has grown between the star midfielder and new manager Emery, alerting the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal.
Juventus have also been credited with an interest, per Italian Football TV, who described a particular incident between Emery and Verratti during the 0-0 draw with Marseille that was caught on camera:
The 23-year-old is still working his way back to his best form following a serious injury that saw him miss out on UEFA Euro 2016. Prior to the injury, he was one of PSG's most pivotal players and widely seen as one of the best young midfielders in the world.
He's been linked with just about every top club since moving to France from Pescara, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, per Le 10 Sport (h/t Lorenzo Bettoni of Calciomercato.com).
As reported by Angelo Taglieri and Jean-Luca Mascaro of Calciomercato, Verratti's agent Di Campli recently opened the door to an exit, stating his client would need "different motivations" in the future.

While Verratti's departure from the Parc des Princes is hardly a certainty, Les Parisiens may find it difficult to keep hold of their star midfield man once the biggest teams in the world come calling.
The Italy international has already enjoyed much success with his current club, winning all there is to win in France, but he's yet to taste success in Europe. If PSG fail to deliver in the UEFA Champions League again this year, there's a good chance Verratti walks.
When he does, expect plenty of clubs to do everything possible to sign him. Here's why:
Arsenal don't have a glaring need for another creative midfielder right now, although Verratti would be a dream replacement for the ageing Santi Cazorla. The Spaniard isn't expected to leave the Emirates Stadium, but if he does, the Gunners should go after Verratti.
Juventus remain the firm favourites to sign the midfielder if he does leave PSG, however. As reported by Goal's Joe Wright, he and his agent haven't made a secret of the fact Verratti is a lifelong Juventus fan, and they've kept the door open to the Bianconeri throughout the years.
Meanwhile, Daniel Cutts of the Sun (h/t the Daily Star's Marc Williams) reports Arsenal are one step closer to signing starlet Tierney, as rivals Manchester City are said to be prioritising a move for Bayern Munich full-back Juan Bernat, giving the Gunners an open path to the Celtic man.

Per the report, both clubs have been tracking Tierney for some time now, but manager Arsene Wenger would have a free run at the left-back if Bernat joins City in January.
Tierney has started the season in superb form for Celtic, who have ridden their youth movement to plenty of success during the opening months. While the full-back hasn't soaked up the headlines like star scorer Moussa Dembele, he's been just as important for the Scottish giants.
Here's a look at some of his highlights from last season:
As shared by sports writer Brian McNally, Tierney is often a standout when he plays:
Arsenal could use a prospect to develop on the left side of the defence, where Nacho Monreal has been the designated starter this season. The Spaniard is still a top full-back but is getting up there in age, so it's not a bad idea to start preparing for the future.
