WrestlingINC.com provided its initial take on the match:

After failing on numerous occasions to win the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship from The New Day, Gallows and Anderson refocused their attention elsewhere in the division by taking aim at arguably the most popular duo in the company.

The former Club members attacked Enzo and Cass while they were cutting a promo on Raw, which led to a pair of singles matches in the weeks leading up to Hell in a Cell, with Anderson facing both Big Cass and Enzo on separate occasions.

After Cass was victorious, Gallows and Anderson attempted to throw the fast-talking tandem off its game by cutting out its microphones. That prompted the former IWGP tag team champs to taunt their opponents, per WWE Universe:

Enzo and Cass were undeterred, as they still completed their promo routine with help from the fans, and Enzo went on to beat Anderson on the go-home episode of Raw prior to Hell in a Cell thanks to a helping boot from Big Cass.

That left Gallows and Anderson in a foul mood, and they vowed to get revenge on Enzo and Cass at Hell in a Cell, as WWE showed:

Gallows and Anderson came to WWE amid much fanfare thanks to their success together in New Japan Pro Wrestling, but they have struggled to find their footing.

During their time as stablemates with AJ Styles, Gallows and Anderson were lackeys who often took the fall.

Although they were thrust into the tag-title scene after the brand split, they were miscast in a comedic role against The New Day, and they seemed to suffer because of it.

The creative team has done a better job of allowing them to focus on being an aggressive, no-nonsense team since then, which made them logical opponents for Enzo and Cass.

There is little doubt the crowd is behind Enzo and Cass, but they have had their own issues in terms of not being booked in feuds of much importance.

WWE appears to be content with keeping Enzo and Cass away from The New Day for the time being, perhaps in hopes of making that a WrestleMania program in April.

Keeping the team strong and relevant until that point is paramount, but the creative team decided to bolster Gallows and Anderson as heels, which could create some level of concern for Enzo and Cass fans who want the former NXT stars in a featured position.
