Goldberg's Best Booking Options for Halloween Edition of WWE Raw

Donald WoodOct 24, 2016

Next Monday’s Halloween episode of WWE Raw will be just one night removed from the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, but the WWE Universe is already talking about Goldberg's second confirmed appearance.

After Brock Lesnar's advocate, Paul Heyman, issued the original challenge, Goldberg accepted, and wrestling fans waited to hear what The Beast and Heyman had to say in response. Unfortunately, the promo Monday didn’t give the WWE Universe anything new to embrace in the story.

For next Monday’s Halloween edition of Raw, here are Goldberg’s best booking options.

Lesnar Interrupts Goldberg’s Promo

The back-and-forth between Lesnar and Goldberg has gone on long enough without a face-to-face interaction, and with Hell in a Cell out of the way, Monday would be the perfect time to kick off the official road to Survivor Series.

When Goldberg hits the ring, the WWE Universe will be chanting his name and going wild for his appearance, but he was never the best at cutting promos. While last week’s segment was full of purpose and intensity, having Lesnar’s music surprisingly cut off Goldberg just as he goes to speak would be perfect booking for Halloween.

Heyman should join Lesnar in the ring and cut one of his masterful promos on the former WCW champion. With neither Lesnar nor Goldberg being known for his mic skills, Heyman hyping up their eventual battle while these two icons stand toe-to-toe would be the ideal use for each Superstar.

Eventually, Goldberg could hit Lesnar with a Spear. With Goldberg standing tall to end the segment, it would not only add credibility to his character, but it would also make it more believable that he could beat Lesnar in a singles match.

Goldberg Destroys a Jobber

If WWE doesn’t want to book Lesnar again next week after the complete waste of his time Monday, Goldberg should come out on Raw and destroy a jobber who interrupts his promo.

With WWE understanding Goldberg’s limitations and playing to his strengths, letting him soak in the WWE Universe and its love for him for several minutes before getting interrupted just as he’s about to speak is fundamental booking.

There are several midcard heel Superstars who could fit the bill, but Titus O’Neil would be an excellent candidate for the role. Both men have football backgrounds and are physical specimens, and O'Neil can run down Goldberg’s accomplishments.

As it is with Goldberg, the segment would end with a massive Spear and O'Neil being destroyed by a Jackhammer. Not only would hitting his signature moves acclimate the WWE Universe to what he does, but it would also showcase his intensity and physical strength.

Keeping it short and sweet with Goldberg is key to his success, so showcasing his entrance and signature moves will allow wrestling fans to enjoy his short stay in WWE.
