BYU Attempts Worst Fake Punt Ever, Fails Miserably

BYU was trailing 14-10 at Boise State in the second quarter of Thursday's game when the visitors faced a 4th-and-19 deep in their own territory. Punter Jonny Linehan lined up in his end zone, but he did not boot the ball after receiving the snap. 

He instead took part in what may be the worst fake punt in history. 

Linehan sprinted to his left as a trio of blockers attempted to pave a path for him. The Broncos' special teams unit had none of it, though, as multiple tacklers stopped him at the 2-yard line.

Perhaps funniest of all is the decision didn't cost BYU. Boise State missed a field goal on the subsequent possession.
