Mozgov Active vs. Warriors

Friday, Nov. 4

The Lakers announced that Mozgov will play Friday against the Golden State Warriors.

Mozgov Injury Details Revealed

Tuesday, Nov. 1

Mozgov was diagnosed with a left-eye contusion after getting hit in the face, according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News. Earlier, he had fallen hard and suffered a laceration on the inside of his mouth, which required sutures after the game, according to Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official website.

He had six points and five rebounds before exiting.

Mozgov Enters New Season as Key Piece to Lakers

Despite suffering a tailbone injury during the preseason, Mozgov has been fairly durable in recent seasons. He played 76 games last season for the Cleveland Cavaliers, 81 games in 2014-15 for Cleveland and the Denver Nuggets and a full 82 games in 2013-14 for Denver.

Mozgov was a marquee figure for Cleveland in 46 games in 2014-15 and averaged 10.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. However, Mozgov saw a decrease in his production last season with 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

The big man has averaged 9.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and one block in his first year with the Lakers.

While the Lakers are in rebuilding mode, Mozgov adds veteran leadership and a rebounding presence down low.
