Nobody Wants These Players in Their Pickup Basketball Game
No sport lends itself better to pickup games than basketball. It's easy to a friendly game of hoops, but the wrong people can just as easily derail it.
provided some examples of the worst people with whom to play pickup basketball. of all different skill levels will know these archetypes far too well.
Calling plays is obnoxious in the wrong setting, but there's nothing worse than the player who calls bogus fouls, or any non-extreme for that matter. Taking a charge is in especially poor taste.
Big men taking threes, however, is a sound tactic as long as the game is played under a 1s and 2s scoring denomination. Kirk , then of Grantland, determined that under these rules, shooting behind the arc is "as relatively valuable as a [Kevin] Durant shot in the NBA":
"Scoring by 1s and 2s might make the math a bit easier, but this approach significantly inflates the relative value of "3-pointers" and simultaneously the value of close-range and midrange field goals. Daryl Morey, the GM of the Houston Rockets and the unofficial shot-selection guru of the analytics generation, told me: "I always make pickup games 3s and 2s to 15 or 20 for this reason."

The guy in the video fortuitously banked in his second attempt from downtown, so keep playing the percentages.
