Powerlifter Ray Williams Sets World Record by Squatting 1,005 Pounds

Prepare to feel a lot weaker after watching Ray Williams become the first powerlifter to squat 1,000 pounds without a squat suit or knee wraps.

At theย USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals last weekend in Atlanta, he set a new record by squatting 1,005 pounds. He also benched 529 pounds and deadlifted 844 pounds during the event.

Last month, Williams a posted a video (warning: video contains NSFW language)ย on Instagram where he squatted 1,000 pounds at a gym. Yet this marks a first for an official competition.
