Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Ousmane Dembele, Vincent Thill

Gianni VerschuerenOct 14, 2016

Borussia Dortmund starlet Ousmane Dembele's comments about playing for Barcelona have opened up the transfer rumour floodgates, as La Liga rivals Real Madrid are now said to be tracking the young Frenchman. Elsewhere, Vincent Thill's agent says Bayern Munich and Los Blancos are eyeing the Metz youngster.

Dembele made headlines during a recent interview, telling Mundo Deportivo (h/t ESPN FC's Eren Sarigul) he dreams of playing for Barcelona despite only moving to Dortmund from Rennes during the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old's comments were always going to open a box of transfer rumours, and Sarigul now reports sources say Real have already made an enquiry about the youngster and are keeping track of proceedings.

Bleacher Report UK's Dean Jones reported similar news on Thursday:

Dembele has made a fantastic start to his career with BVB, fitting in almost seamlessly despite making a giant step up in competition.

He broke out last season as Rennes' star man in attack, scoring in his debut against Bordeaux and establishing himself as one of France's top talents over the course of the season.

Here's a look at some of his highlights:

He and fellow top prospect Emre Mor both moved to Dortmund during the summer, and neither needed much time adapting to their new surroundings or the Bundesliga. Per WhoScored.com, Dembele has already started five Bundesliga matches, scoring once and providing three assists.

As shared by ESPN FC's Stefan Buczko, manager Thomas Tuchel pointed at his lack of experience on the senior level and how remarkable it is he's already holding his own for BVB:

Dembele is expected to spend several more years in Germany developing with BVB, who have a fantastic reputation when it comes to youth development―the likely reason he chose Signal Iduna Park as his new home.

Fans won't like the fact he's already openly talking about his next club, however. Dortmund have lost a host of star players to rival clubs over the last few years, including beloved figures like Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels, and these comments only reinforce the narrative BVB is a stepping stone to a bigger club.

Real can afford to be patient and keep an eye on proceedings―per Sarigul, their transfer ban means they won't be able to register any new players, so transfer activity should be at a minimum. Barcelona seems to be Dembele's dream club, however, so Los Blancos will face a real battle when the Frenchman decides to move on.

Meanwhile, Thill's agent, Didier Philippe, has been talking up his client, telling Footmercato (h/t Metro's Coral Barry) the teenager is wanted by two of Europe's biggest clubs:

"

Bayern thought he was available for an interesting transfer fee, but that was not what Metz had in mind.
The transfer did not happen for financial reasons.

But I also think it was important for Vincent to sign his first professional deal with Metz.

I can confirm that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on him, but I do not know if Zidane personally called him.

But Madrid and Bayern are not the only teams that have shown an interest in him. There are other big teams as well. You do not see a 16-year-old play in Ligue 1 every day.

"

Despite being just 16 years old, Thill has already made six appearances for Luxembourg, and he has also featured for Metz in Ligue 1. The slick midfielder mainly stands out for his ability to distribute, but he can also score goals, as seen in the video below:

Both Bayern and Real have done a great job of snapping up young talent in recent years, and Thill is but the latest in a long line of talents linked to those teams. He's barely made a dent in Ligue 1 so far, however―he's probably best of spending the next few seasons where he is.
