According to the AP, the cornerback signed a two-year, $13.5 million contract with the Buccaneers before the season started. He also played for the Miami Dolphins from 2013 to 2015 and signed a four-year deal with them in March 2014 worth up to $32 million, with $16 million guaranteed, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

However, the Dolphins released him before the 2016 campaign.

Grimes also played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2007 to 2012 and is a four-time Pro Bowler (2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015).

The 33-year-old has 17 combined tackles and one interception for the 2-3 Buccaneers through five games this season.
