DeMarcus Cousins Says He Has Never Heard of Paul McCartney
DeMarcus Cousins was born in 1990. The Beatles had disbanded 20 years earlier.
The band remains iconic, and singer Paul McCartney has kept busy as a solo artist. Nevertheless, not everyone grew up listening to "Yesterday," "Hey Jude" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand."
On Monday night, the Sacramento Kings played their first game at Golden 1 Center, which opened for business with a McCartney concert. When asked if he went, Cousins said, "I don't even know who that is," per ESPN's Arash Markazi.
To be fair, the inquiring reporter probably doesn't know some of Boogie's favorite artists. Or maybe Cousins would realize who McCartney is upon hearing some of his work.
There are far worse things than a 26-year-old having a cultural blind spot to a musician who flourished in the 1960s.

Cousins had some fun with the story by sharing his personal taste in classic rock and roll:
