Manchester United Transfer News: Marco Verratti Blow, Latest Rumours
Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti is reportedly not interested in a move to the Premier League, denting the hopes of Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to sign the Italian. Meanwhile, AC Milan are said to be interested in Memphis Depay.
As reported by Angelo Taglieri and Jean-Luca Mascaro of Calciomercato., Verratti's agent, Donato Di Campli, has thrown fuel on transfer rumours surrounding his client, saying the midfielder will need “different motivations” and won't stay at PSG.

Most major European clubs are said to be interested in the Italy international, including Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and the two Premier League giants. But according to the report, the 23-year-old is not attracted to English football, even if close friend Zlatan Ibrahimovic currently plies his trade at Old Trafford.
Verratti left Italy for PSG in 2012 and has become one of Europe's top young midfielders since, playing at the base of the Parisien midfield and using his passing range to devastating effects.
His composure on the ball is one of his biggest assets, and despite his role as the main conductor in midfield, he's also a willing and able tackler. Here's a look at some of his highlights:
Verratti is one of PSG's biggest stars and a key part of their ambitious project, but the French champions have so far failed to live up to their incredible potential in Europe. He's won the Ligue 1 title multiple times, but if Les Parisiens can't step up in the UEFA Champions League, a transfer will become almost inevitable.
Juventus would be strong candidates for his signature―Di Campli never made a secret of the fact Verratti is a lifelong fan of the club, per Goal's Joe Wright. The Bianconeri were the favourites to land him before he left Pescara for PSG, and they could use another star midfielder with Paul Pogba now playing for United.
Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti signed him while he was in charge of PSG, and given their inpressive track record in Europe, the Bavarians would present another likely destination.
Both Chelsea and United could use an upgrade in midfield, but as of right now, the English giants don't appear in pole position to bring Verratt into the fold.
Meanwhile, Tuttomercato (h/t Daily Mirror's Aaron Flanagan) report Milan want to make a move for Depay, United's out-of-favour winger. The former PSV star has barely featured under manager Jose Mourinho, and per the report, United could be open to letting him leave if the right offer comes along.

The 22-year-old moved to Old Trafford during the summer of 2015 after a fantastic campaign in the Eredivisie, but he failed to live up to the lofty expectations in his first season in the Premier League. With his confidence at an all-time low, he hasn't fared any better this season.
A fresh start may be exactly what he needs, and Milan are likely hoping he can return to the form he flashed in the Netherlands, where he did things like this:
Milan are in the middle of a foreign takeover that would increase their transfer budget significantly, allowing the Rossoneri to take a chance on a talent such as Depay. But per Bloomberg (h/t Agence France-Presse, for Yahoo Sports), the investment company is now accused of using falsified documents to complete the transaction.
If the takeover does go through in time, Milan could launch their move for Depay as early as January, per Flanagan.
