Reeves-Maybin Is a Leader on Defense for Vols
According to Rhiannon Potkey of the Knoxville News Sentinel, Reeves-Maybin suffered a muscle sprain in his shoulder against Ohio on Sept. 17 and saw only limited action in a Sept. 24 victory over the Florida Gators.
The Clarksville, Tennessee, native has registered 20 tackles so far this season after crossing the 100-tackle mark in both 2014 and 2015. He was also second on the team in sacks last season with six.
With Reeves-Maybin out of the picture for Saturday's crucial SEC clash, junior Cortez McDowell figures to continue to man the weak-side linebacker spot.
McDowell has 27 tackles so far this season after seeing limited duty as a sophomore in 2015.
