According to Scout.com, the 4-star prospect from Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas is the No. 157-ranked player and No. 9-ranked linebacker in his class.

Johnson originally committed to Texas A&M in July but decommitted less than a month later, providing a statement on Twitter:

With scholarship offers from dozens of schools, the linebacker ended up sticking with the Aggies, though.

Johnson is an exceptional athlete who has spent time playing quarterback and receiver for his high school team. His speed and athleticism should allow him to cover ground on the defensive side and make him a threat whenever he has the ball in his hands.

Although he is undersized for a linebacker, the 6'2" 210-pounder has plenty of time to add muscle in order to handle the physical demands of college football. Meanwhile, his versatility should allow him to play a hybrid position at the next level, where he can be effective dropping into coverage, rushing the passer or stopping the run.

The talented prospect has a chance to make an impact early for Texas A&M and could potentially develop into a star down the line.
