Barcelona Transfer News: Alexander Isak Eyed Amid Real Madrid, Liverpool Rumours

Rory MarsdenSep 28, 2016

Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on AIK Solna forward Alexander Isak as his excellent form in Sweden continues to draw interest from a number of top clubs.

According to Sport, Barcelona sources have confirmed 17-year-old Isak—followed by the Blaugrana since last season—is "one of many young players on the club's radar."

However, per Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, he is also now on Real Madrid's radar after they sent scouts to watch him, while other sources have reported interest from Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Leicester City, via the aforementioned Sport report.

As can be seen below, Isak is a physically imposing and athletic player:

He has represented Sweden at under-17 level and been compared to Manchester United No. 9 Zlatan Ibrahimovic, per Sport.

The teenager has made 13 starts and five substitute appearances for AIK in the Allsvenskan in 2016—the Solna outfit lie third in the table—and netted six times, per WhoScored.com.

Predominantly an out-and-out striker, Isak can also drop deeper if needs be to play in the No. 10 position, as his link-up play and comfort on the ball match his quality finishing and aerial presence.

He has all the attributes to become a top player, hence so many major European clubs are reportedly interested in him.

Barca have little need for him in their first team at the moment given that Luis Suarez is arguably the best striker on the planet—see Bleacher Report's analysis below:

However, Isak is one for the future, and Barcelona's hand may be forced if they want to snap him up ahead of the likes of Real and Liverpool.

He would likely flourish in the Barca youth teams because of his control and physicality, while the coaches at the Camp Nou could mould him into an ideal Blaugrana star of the future.
