Tiger Woods Gets Kicked Out of US Ryder Cup Team Photo
Tiger Woods is still adjusting to his new role as the United States' vice captain in the Ryder Cup, as the 40-year-old nearly invaded the team photo at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.
Woods, who has won 14 majors but has not competed this year due to back issues, was promptly booted.
Moving to the other side didn't work either.
Despite last winning a major in 2008 and not being a golfer for Team USA, the former great remains the center of attention leading up to the event, which begins Sept. 30. Yet captain Davis Love III insisted to ESPN.com's Bob Harig that enlisting Woods was not a publicity ploy.
"He's been amazingly involved,'' Love said. "He's been very thoughtful in the way that he's handled the Tiger Woods factor of being an influence, but also being a distraction."
Woods hopes to return to the golf course soon. For now, he must step aside and let the country's younger stars shine.
