The Wisconsin Badgers just pulled off one upset in the state of Michigan to extend their road winning streak to eight games, which includes a 6-2 mark against the spread.

Why the Wisconsin Badgers can cover the spread
Wisconsin began this season as almost an afterthought in the Big Ten, but with a 4-0 start finds itself ranked in the Top 10.
Last week the Badgers pulled off a shocker, mugging Michigan State 30-6 in East Lansing. Wisconsin spotted the Spartans an early field goal, but battled back to take a 13-6 lead into halftime. The Badgers defense then came up with the key play of the game early in the third quarter, when a good hit on Michigan State running back LJ Scott forced a fumble that Wisconsin safety Leo Musso returned 66 yards for a touchdown and a 20-6 advantage. The Badgers tacked on 10 points from there for the outright victory as four-point underdogs.
On the day, Wisconsin out-rushed the Spartans 122-75, as the Badgers defense held an opponent to less than 100 yards on the ground for the eighth time in their last 11 games. Meanwhile, redshirt freshman quarterback Alex Hornibrook, making his first career start, completed 16 of 26 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown against one meaningless interception.
Why the Michigan Wolverines can cover the spread
Michigan is also 4-0 straight up and 3-1 ATS on the season after popping Penn State last week 49-10. The Wolverines grabbed a 7-0 lead five minutes into the game, pushed that to 21-0 early in the second and 28-0 at the half, and cruised home from there for an easy cover as 15-point favorites.
For the day, the Maize and Blue out-gained the Nittany Lions 515-191, racked up 326 yards rushing and won time of possession by a 36-24 split. They also converted 11 of 16 third downs, while the Wolverines defense recorded six sacks.
Michigan is now 9-2 SU and 7-4 ATS at home under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Smart pick
Wisconsin caught Michigan State on a letdown a week after the Spartans had stunned Notre Dame. Now it's the Badgers who have to get up for a big game for the second week in a row, and that's hard to do. Plus, throwing a freshman in against this Wolverines defense at the Big House does not sound conducive to success. The smart money here sides with Michigan.
