Cam Newton Pays Tribute to Prince with Customized Cleats Before Game vs. Vikings

Carolina Panthers fans may not like seeing quarterback Cam Newton wear the colors of an opposing team, but he had good reason to do so Sunday.

Ahead of his team's game against the Minnesota Vikings, Newton took the field for pregame warm-ups wearing purple cleats. Why purple? Well, the 2015 NFL MVP was paying tribute to Prince, who died earlier this year at the age of 57. The "Purple Rain" singer was a Minnesota native.
