NFL Scores Week 3: Complete Results and Top Fantasy Performances
The New England Patriots opened Week 3 of the NFL season with a reminder that no one player is bigger than the system.
Even without the suspended Tom Brady or the injured Jimmy Garoppolo, the Patriots manhandled the Houston Texans on the way to a 27-0 shutout on Thursday.
Running back LeGarrette Blount was the fantasy star, totaling 105 yards and two touchdowns. He racked up 24 points in standard-scoring leagues.

Notable Week 3 Fantasy Performers
LeGarrette Blount

With third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett under center on Thursday, the Patriots relied heavily on their defense and the punishing style of Blount.
Blount carried the ball 24 times (tied for the fifth-most carries he's had in an NFL game) and recorded his longest run of the young season. The NFL shared video of the 41-yard scamper to the end zone:
This kind of performance is nothing new for Blount this season. He's had a touchdown in every Patriots game in 2016 and is averaging 17.7 fantasy points.
And for perhaps the first time during his tenure with New England, he's starting to get the credit he deserves for being the counterbalance for the high-flying passing game. "LeGarrette Blount is an all-time underrated Patriot," Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweeted.
With one more game left on Brady's suspension, expect the Pats to turn to Blount again in Week 4.
Trevor Siemian

Trevor Siemian played the role of game manager quite well during the Denver Broncos' first two wins of the season. On Sunday, he looked like one of the league's top gunslingers during his first start on the road.
Siemian led the Broncos to a 29-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, completing 23 of 35 passes for 312 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. The Broncos didn't get that kind of quarterback play in a single game last season, according to NFL Research:
In the fourth quarter alone, Siemian had a perfect passer rating, per Andrew Mason of the Broncos' official website:
As the second-year quarterback continues to gain confidence and comfort as an NFL starter, games like this should become a more regular occurrence.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones entered Week 3 with 12 receptions, 203 yards and no touchdowns on the season. On Sunday, he lit up the Green Bay Packers defense for six catches, 205 yards and two scores.
The Lions may not have pulled off the victory, but you certainly can't blame Jones. Catches like this one shared by the NFL helped keep the Lions within striking distance of a red-hot Aaron Rodgers:
The explosive performance was the best by a Lions receiver not named Calvin Johnson since 1989, per NFL Research:
The Lions need someone to fill the void left by Johnson's sudden retirement. Sunday's performance suggests Jones could help carry that load.
