The Seattle Seahawks (1-1) are still trying to find their groove offensively heading into Sunday's divisional battle with the San Francisco 49ers (1-1). The Seahawks have covered in 10 straight games against the 49ers, including five consecutive straight up, according to the Odds Shark NFL Database.

The Seahawks have totaled just 15 points through their first two games and have slipped in the Super Bowl 51 odds, but they are listed as big favorites for Sunday's contest against San Francisco.

Point spread: The Seahawks opened as 11-point favorites; the total was 41.5 early in the week, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark. (Line updates and matchup report)

NFL pick, via Odds Shark computer: 25.7-15.7 Seahawks (NFL picks on every game)

Why the 49ers can cover the spread

At some point, the 49ers are going to cover the spread against Seattle because it is inevitable. This might be their best chance in a while, as the Seahawks are sputtering offensively. On the year, they have only one touchdown, which was needed with 31 seconds remaining to avoid a home loss to the Miami Dolphins in their season opener.

San Francisco may have been blown out 46-27 by the defending NFC champion Carolina Panthers last week, but at least the team showed some fight at times, which will be needed again in order to beat the number at Seattle on Sunday.

Why the Seahawks can cover the spread

The Seahawks are overdue to break out offensively, and they will get a great opportunity to do just that against a team they have dominated dating back to 2012. The past four meetings have all been decided by double digits in their favor—along with six of the last eight. They should have a mental advantage over the 49ers in what used to be considered one of the best rivalries in the league.

Seattle has rebounded nicely recently under head coach Pete Carroll, too, winning four in a row straight up and going 3-1 against the spread in its last four games following a loss.

Smart pick

San Francisco has been a lousy road team lately, going 1-10 SU and 2-9 ATS in its last 11 games away from home. CenturyLink Field used to be known as the best home-field advantage in the NFL for the Seahawks, who are just 3-4 ATS in their last seven there. Seattle will get back on track and bounce back against the 49ers with a cover.

Betting trends

The 49ers are 0-5 SU in their last five games against the Seahawks.

The 49ers are 0-10 ATS in their last 10 games against the Seahawks.

The Seahawks are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in their last four games after a loss.
