The NFL doesn't like when players go against its uniform policies, even when they are trying to make a fashion statement.
Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins said Thursday he was fined $6,000 for wearing Yeezy cleats in Week 1, which may deter him from wearing them on the field again, per SportsCenter:
According to USA Today Sports (h/t KHOU.com), the shoes designed by rapper Kanye West have a $250 retail price.
The Adidas product officially went on sale Thursday, according to the brand's Twitter account.
Hopkins, who finished third in the NFL in both catches and receiving yards in 2015, had five catches for 54 yards and a touchdown while wearing the cleats against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Of course, the Texans star isn't the only elite football player who owns Kanye shoes.
However, the latest punishment from the NFL has made it clear that if players want to continue wearing the shoes in game action, they need to be willing to pay the fine that goes along with doing so.
