NBA 2K17: Latest Preview Trailers, Pre-Order Info, Features and Modes
The NBA 2K series makes its triumphant return Tuesday with the release of NBA 2K17.
For those who pre-ordered the game on their platform of choice, 2K Games will once again grant early access, which launches Friday. Those who choose to pass on the pre-order offers will wait a few more days to witness odd things such as a Cleveland Cavaliers championship banner and Kevin Durant in a Golden State Warriors jersey (too soon?).
Regardless, the return of the best basketball simulation on the market, a reigning champion in that regard, means it's time for a celebration. Here's a look at the latest information about the release.

Features and Modes
MyGM and MyLeague modes get a major boost in NBA 2K17.
Veterans of the franchise might be scratching their heads in confusion. Indeed, these modes were already ridiculously deep. But this isn't called a simulation for no reason—the folks at 2K Sports want NBA fans to have the ability to go even deeper.
Last year was a bit of a warm-up. The new modes allow leagues featuring up to 36 teams, all fully customizable. This can naturally happen over the life of a franchise mode or right out of the gates with everything at a player's fingertips.
It's all about the little things, too. New trading options, scouting logic and even jersey retirements have found their way into this year's release, helping the game become more like the real thing.
MyCareer makes a triumphant return as well and boasts Michael B. Jordan of The Wire fame as a companion to the player's created character. Game Informer's Matt Bertz detailed the thematic changes of the high school-to-pros journey:
"Unlike the uneven Spike Lee offering last year, this year's MyCareer puts less of an emphasis on off-the-court drama and focuses more on interactions with teammates, coaches, and other players in the league. That said, your college years do include interactions with your family, high school coach, closest teammate, and a love interest.
"
MyTeam mode also returns this year, which means players can once again hunt for rare cards in packs while trying to build the ultimate roster.
As far as general gameplay goes, there is a new shot meter in play, a new stealing system, better play-calling and more options in a timeout huddle.
