Philadelphia 76ers Unveil Throwback Jerseys as Tribute to 1966-67 Team

As the Philadelphia 76ers continue a long rebuilding phase, throughout the upcoming season they will honor the 50-year anniversary of the 1966-67 championship squad.

The tribute includes throwback jerseys honoring their title campaign, when Wilt Chamberlain averaged 24.1 points and 24.2 rebounds per contest. The 76ers announced that they will wear the uniforms during six "Salute Saturday" games, per the team's official website.

They will also redesign the court and give away special tickets to season-ticket holders:

Fans will hope that Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid give future generations something to celebrate. For now, they have to harken back a long way to remember the sensation of victory.
